Who is responsible

The controller of personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Theodoros Tsavlidis, trading as Metras, an individual business in Greece, Digeni 3, 56123 Thessaloniki, Greece. Metras is a trademark registered in Greece.

You can reach us at connect@metras.pro.

In short

  • The app compresses videos and photos on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
  • There is no account and no sign-in.
  • The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and we receive no payment details.

What the app does with your data

The app reads the videos and photos you allow it to access, makes smaller copies and saves them where you choose. All of this happens on your iPhone. We do not receive your videos, your photos or information about them, and the app does not send them to any server.

The app does not collect personal data about you, and it does not contain third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software.

Why the app asks for Photos access

The app asks for access to your Photos library for two reasons only: to read the videos and photos you want to compress, and to save the compressed copies you create. It also accepts files you pick or share into it from other apps. Your originals are not deleted unless you decide so.

You can change or withdraw this access at any time in the iPhone Settings. Compressed copies you share with other apps or services are then handled by those apps under their own rules.

Notifications

The app can show local notifications, for example when a compression has finished. They are created on your iPhone. The app does not use push notifications from a server. You can turn them off in the iPhone Settings.

Pro purchase

The optional Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and the purchase records under Apple’s privacy policy. We receive no payment data and no information that identifies you. The app only checks with Apple’s StoreKit system on your device whether the purchase has been made, including through Family Sharing.

When you contact us

If you write to connect@metras.pro, we use your email address and your message only to answer you and to keep a record of the request. We keep it for as long as needed for that purpose. We do not sell it or use it for marketing.

We process it because it is necessary to answer your request (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have it corrected or erased;
  • restrict or object to its processing;
  • receive it in a portable format, where this applies;
  • complain to a supervisory authority. In Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, or the authority in the country where you live.

To use these rights, write to connect@metras.pro. Because the app keeps your videos and photos only on your device, we cannot see or delete them for you; you control them in the app and in the Photos app.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to connect@metras.pro and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
